News & Events

Our Website is expanding!

We are currently putting more information onto our website that will be helpful for pet owners.  There is a new section under 'About Cancer' that provides answers to Frequently Asked Questions.  There is also a list of questions to ask your veterinary surgeon if you have received a diagnosis of cancer in your pet.   Click here to go straight to the list of questions for your veterinary surgeon.   March 2010

PENNINE BERNESE CARTERS AT CRUFTS!!

The Pennine Bernese Carters presented a cheque to the Animal Cancer Trust for the magnificent sum of £4,000 at Crufts on Friday 12 March.  Our Trustee, Jeff Sampson, received the cheque from Barbara Baldock (on left) and Liz Marshall who represented the Pennine Carters.  The money was raised throughout 2009 at various shows and events.  Well done to everyone involved.  It is great news for the Animal Cancer Trust and will help immensely.

Sponsored dog walks 2009

The Take the Lead sponsored dog walks were held on Saturday 3rd October and Sunday 4th October 2009.  Once again the walks were sponsored by Royal Canin who provided a dog lead for all participants plus a prize to the person who raised the most money at each walk.    The weather was great this year and there were many happy walkers - both two and four legged!

Canine Supporters Charity donation

The Animal Cancer Trust was presented with a cheque for £6,000 from the Canine Supporters Charity on 12th September 2009 at the Richmond Championship Dog Show held near Guildford.  What a marvellous boost to our funds - thank you to the Board of the Canine Supporters Charity for recognising the Trust.  This is now the fourth year that the Animal Cancer Trust has been a beneficiary and we are truly delighted!  The monies received have been put to good use helping fund the training provided to groups such as veterinary nurses, groomers and even veterinary surgeons.

Thank you to our team in the office!

A big thank you to the workers in the office who keep everything ticking over from day to day.  Without their work the Trust would not be operating.  Here is a picture of Rhian who looks after the work of the Animal Cancer Trust answering telephone enquiries and emails as well as dealing with the correspondence.  Thank you Rhian!

Major sponsor & supporter of the Animal Cancer Trust!

Royal Canin continue to provide great support for the Animal Cancer Trust to help us reach our goal of fighting cancer in our pets.  In 2007 and 2008 they helped us produce our new leaflet and poster amongst other things.   In 2009 we are in the process of producing a new information leaflet which will be designed and printed by Royal Canin.  They have helped in so many other areas and are a delight to work with.

Royal Canin are the headline sponsors and closely involved with the nationwide dog walk, 'Take the Lead'.
